6 Ways to Make an Off-The-Rack Outfit Your Own
By Regina
Pinder-Smith
Can you recall a red carpet fiasco
when two of your celebrity sheroes donned identical gowns, and the media went
into frenzied pursuit of social media poll results comparing who wore it
best? Perhaps, you met your own trend-twin at work or a social event
after shopping endlessly to select the perfect outfit, or you’re simply bored
with wearing the same outfit the same way every time. It happens to the
best of us- no matter how much we pay for the frocks, but if you're in a rut
because you're not sure how to make an off-the-rack outfit your own, here are
six easy tips:

The sock guy
~By Regina Pinder-Smith
ROCKVILLE,
MD-- I’m a beauty-fashion and entertainment blogger who blogs about everything,
and I have a delightful Facebook friend with a penchant for socks. He doesn’t appear to be partial to any
particular, brand, style, or color, although I don’t suppose he cares for solid
colors.
He’s posted checkered, polka-dot, houndstooth, argyle, and more, but I’m still awaiting paisley. If I were to snoop into his Facebook timeline or his photo gallery more closely, I’m sure I’d find more because this guy rocks his socks!
He seems to select them the way most guys select their ties. I first noticed his flair for socks during the holiday season of 2012, when I guess the whole notion of Christmas stockings is pretty nostalgic anyway. What a blessing for this guy’s friends and family, I recall thinking, because when it comes to gift exchanging, they’d always know exactly what to get him- not like some others who are impossible to please!
Then gradually, I began to notice other people posting what I had by then dubbed character socks, and I soon discovered that they were all friends of my Facebook sock connoisseur. Apparently his fondness for socks is not limited to his own collection but includes an entire fan base! So, I requested to join the vanity fair, but I rarely wear socks and wasn’t sure how appropriately my hosiery pics would be received. So, I offered to post my footies instead! Needless-to-say, my footies and I were warmly welcomed; and thus, was the beginning of some of my best social media relationships.
Wouldn’t you know, it turns out that “the sock guy” is the author of a new book called Return On Relationships™? His name is Ted Rubin, and he is the Chief Social Marketing Officer of Collective Bias®- a content marketing company with an impressive roster of clients, such as Disney, Starbuck's Nestlé, Elmer's, and Tyson- to name a few.
Ted Rubin has officially joined the ranks of my favorite bloggers. I have witnessed Ted, who I have nicknamed The Rub, effortlessly weave casual social networking experiences into blog content! Any blogger who has struggled with producing fresh content on a timely basis would appreciate the opportunity to observe this guy’s story techniques! He operates like a ninja, who has mastered the martial art of socking you with stories you can relate to about characters you’re already familiar with, via your social networking interaction with him. My file folder for the sock guy is The_Rub/SOCK-HOP/ and consists of file names ranging from luvvy_those_kicks.jpg, the-tango.jpg, to not_his_color.jpg.
I, the mere grasshopper/ninja-in-training, can’t wait to read The Rub’s book! I’d love to request his permission to write a review. So, I contacted him.

Celebrating January 2013's Month-End
~By Regina Pinder-Smith
As usual, I didn’t dictate what the month's beauty trend
would be in advance, rather I permitted January 2013's BeautyFashionForward.com at Facebook to evolve naturally, via Facebook
friend participation, and I am reporting this month-end’s results.
New Year’s Day, 2013 kickstarted a solid month of foundation-building
at www.BeautyFashionForward.com
.
What is the worth of a beautiful design’s construction
void of foundation? Foundations provide
structure and form. Lack of foundations
destroys presentations and the end-results appear sloppy and unpresentable. Most of this month’s Facebook postings appeared
to share this theme in common as our BFFs communicated various ways each
intends to best prepare for a successful new year.
